Baldy View ROP organized the Eyewear School-2-Home event in collaboration with Vision to Learn on June 26th, July 2nd, 3rd, and 9th to offer complimentary eye screenings and glasses to all K-12 students. The event was a huge success, ensuring that every student had access to essential eye care and the necessary eyewear to support their education. In total, 133 eye screenings were conducted and 38 pairs of glasses were distributed. We are extremely thankful to Vision to Learn for their support and dedication to our students and community.

Chaffey Joint Union High School District

My name is Damien, and I’m a senior at Alta Loma High School. I’m taking the Transport and Supply ROP class with Mr. Bautista. I got interested in this class thanks to my other ROP teacher, Mr. Reyes. He encouraged me to explore other ROP classes, and since I get a lot of packages shipped to my house, I wanted to learn more about how the shipping industry works and what opportunities are out there. I’d recommend this class to other students because it teaches you important skills and safety training needed to succeed in this industry. Plus, they offer many certifications, and the school pays for them, which is really helpful for students. One of my favorite things I’ve learned is how to properly inspect equipment and stay safe in the warehouse. I also learned how to operate a forklift and master the skills needed for safety.

Chino Valley Unified School District

My name is Gabriela Angulo, and I'm a 9th grader at Chino High School. I'm taking the Mental and Behavioral Health ROP class with Ms. Calvin, and it’s been really helpful for my future plans for college and my career. In this class, I’ve learned a lot about how the brain works and why we feel certain emotions. Ms. Calvin has taught us the different functions of the brain and introduced us to important terms. This has given me a basic understanding of brain science and helped me become more compassionate towards others. I plan to use the coping skills I’ve learned from Ms. Calvin to help my friends. After high school, I want to go to a college with a good medical program and become a Physician’s Assistant, specializing in psychiatry. This class has really influenced my decision and helped me figure out what I want to do in the future.

Claremont Unified School District

I’m Tristan Sulca, a senior at Claremont High School, and I’m taking the Sports Medicine ROP class with Instructor Jonathan Snapp. This class has been really beneficial in preparing me for my future career and college. I’ve learned a lot about injury prevention, treatment techniques, and how to help athletes recover. These skills are important for anyone wanting to work in sports medicine. I plan to use the knowledge and skills I’ve gained from this class to support athletes and individuals in recovering from injuries and improving their performance. After high school, I intend to stay close to home for two years then transfer to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to further pursue my academics and future career in sports. My ROP class has had a big impact on my plans by giving me a solid understanding of the field and confirming that this is the career path I want to pursue.

Upland Unified School District

I’m Naomi Romero, a senior at Upland High School, and I’m taking the Contemporary Modern Dance and Choreography class with Instructor Anna Jarrell. My cousin took this class. She made it look so effortless and fun that I knew I wanted to try it myself. I’d definitely recommend this class to other students because it’s not only a lot of fun but also encourages great teamwork. One of the most impactful things I’ve learned is that hard work really pays off and how to collaborate effectively with others. These are skills I know will be valuable as I move forward in my career.
